About XTapes Downloader
XTapes pages can be useful while a stream is available, but a bookmark is not a reliable personal archive. Pages can change, embedded sources can rotate, and a video that loads today may not resolve the same way later. When you need to keep content you are already allowed to access, saving a local MP4 gives you a steadier offline copy.
XTapes Downloader adds that workflow directly to your desktop browser. Open a supported XTapes video page, start playback so the media request initializes, and click the extension icon. The extension checks the active tab for compatible video sources your current browser session can already reach, then offers a clear save action without command-line tools, screen recorders, or third-party conversion sites.
The tool is designed for careful individual saves rather than automated collection. It focuses on the page you are viewing, uses available page details for cleaner filenames when possible, and saves finished files as standard MP4 videos for offline playback in normal media players. Removed pages, unsupported embeds, DRM-protected media, and content outside your permissions remain unavailable.
Privacy stays local. Detection and saving run inside your browser, and videos are written directly to your selected download location without a relay server, conversion upload, or temporary cloud workspace.
